Wish I would have had time to post this before, but last Sat. in Beijing we were with my 2 twin chinese cousins their 4 kids each, aged 5-14, and 1 husband. My cousins were adopted as infants when my aunt and uncle were missionary teachers in Taiwan. I was about 7, and that experience affected me greatly--starting me on my desire to adopt. my one cousin and fam. are living in China for 18 mo or so, immersed in Chinese school--they were in immersion school in Oregon. When I sent out email that we were going to China, my cousin in IN, emailed me that she and 4 kids were coming to Beijing to meet her sister the day after us! So they stayed one night at same hotel, and we rented a minibus and went to Great Wall and summer palace and dinner . Great day!! And another above and beyond gift of God, the cousins who started me on my journey to adopt, were with us at beginning of end of our journey. And the cousin who lives in China, was with us when we met AG in her foster group home in Beijing--she was our videographer! So it was really special for her to witness our meeting as she was adopted. And she and her sister recently found their biological mother and sisters in Taiwan, and hope to meet them soon. I remember when I found out we would be seeing them in China, I called my mom, screaming, "GUESS WHO WILL BE IN BEIJING AT SAME TIME AS US!! They are on my mom's side of fam, so so special for my mom to be with us and them too. We rarely see them in states as they all live out of state from us.
Wow! knew we'd have rain tonight, but a deluge just started--guess we are in tropics!!
