HIS EYES ARE ON FIVE SPARROWS: 3/29/10 Zhenghou, Henan, we have just met our Daughter AG!! She came right to us with a hug--very happy to see us--8 other families around us meeting their children for 1st time--was pretty fun to watch! AG is holding brown bear--we had brown bear in pics ad DVD we sent her, and told her we'd bring him--gave to her 1st thing!

3/29/10 Zhenghou, Henan, we have just met our Daughter AG!! She came right to us with a hug--very happy to see us--8 other families around us meeting their children for 1st time--was pretty fun to watch! AG is holding brown bear--we had brown bear in pics ad DVD we sent her, and told her we'd bring him--gave to her 1st thing!

Our indepth adoption timeline

Sometime in 06 or 07: had a strong feeling my daughter was alive. Wish I could remember the day. . . . .
May 07: God prompted me to begin praying earnestly re. adoptsoion--enlisted Pa and others
1/14/08: decided to walk through door of adoption while out on a walk in 60 degree whether in midwest!
1/08-6/08:, chose homestudy agency/adoption agency/worked feverishly on dossier/ 3 trips downtown to chinese consulate/4 homestudy visits/lots of paperwork laying every aspect of our lives open to be scrutinized by strangers
6/6/08: OFFICIALLY LOGGED IN with CCAA in China (China Center for Adoption Affairs)!
8/08: Began to realize the wait would be longer than 18 months!
9/08-12/08: researched special need adoption
12/15/08: got in line for special need adoption--expect 12 months wait for referral
9/09: learn 12 mo wait more like 18 month--very sad
9/17/09: Thursday night on an evening walk, evaluated our options, do we expand the age/ special needs we are interested in? we decide to stay with age (24-44 months) and original special needs we had researched and felt comfortable with. But, decided to pursue other agencies to find our daughter--had begun to be allowed to switch agencies in late summer 09
9/19/09 my wonderful godly 96 yo grandma died after a many yr. battle with alzheimers, later that evening when Pa was asleep was browsing Rumor Queen (chinaadopttalk.com) chinafor6 posted re. her agency's new designated list--one girl was 3 1/2 yo with cleft lip and palate! I emailed agency, received reply and medical file THAT night, had to wait till am to tell Pa we may have found OUR DAUGHTER!
9/19/09-10/02/09: Waited patiently, (without telling anyone) for an update of 2 yr old medical file. God taught us a lot about trusting Him and waiting patiently. Received it late on a Friday night: Woo hoo! But Pa was asleep and I had to wait to show updated pics and awesome report till am!
10/06/09: Submitted LOI--letter of intent to China to adopt our daughter
10/13/09: Received PA--preapproval to adopt our daughter--sent out an email to many
11/11/09: Received our new transfer LID--log in date for our new agency
01/13/10: Received our LOA--letter of approval to officially adopt our daughter from China
02/04/10: Received our TA--Travel approval to travel to China for our daughter
Began working feverishly on travel plans: OUR TRIP:
03/24/10: Leave with our boys and my mom (gma) to China
03/25/10: After a 13 hour nonstop flight, get to Beijing
03/26/10, meet our daughter for a 2 hour visit at her foster group home
03/27/10 travel with my twin Chinese (adopted) cousins 1 of their husbands, and their 8 kids to Great Wall and Summer palace
03/28/10 grandma flies to Macao to spend 5 days with her sister, a missionary, and we fly to Zhengzhou, Henan to get AG!
03/29/10: Gotcha day--we get our 4 yo daughter for good!
03/30/10: adoption is finalized
03/31/10-04/01/10: tour Shaolin kung fu area, visit Xinxiang, town where our daugher was born, hopefully visit SWI--social welfare institute where she spent 1st 15 months of her life and had her cleft lip surgery at 14 months old
04/02/10: Pa and boys fly back to Beijing and home 4/3, and back to school and work. Ma and AG fly to Guangzhou, grandma and aunt meet us there
04/03/10: AG has physical and a probable chest xray due/to having had TB (BCG) vaccine (false +s on skin test)
04/04--04/05/10: Tour, relax, due to Sunday and Monday holiday
04/06/10: Have CA--consulate appointment with US consulate
04/07/10: apply for AG's visa for US
04/08/10: pick up visa in late afternoon
04/09/10: leave on train in am for Hongkong
04/10/10: leave on nonstop United for home!
04/11/10: Real life for fam of 5 begins. . . . . . .
