1) Quantity of time. Our days are very full and there is not a lot of free time to sit in front of computer to blog. We are meeting a lot government officials, spending time to get to know our daughter.
2) Quantity of information. There is simply too much information for my brain to soak up and process through out this experience. From typical tourist sites (Great Wall, Forbidden City, etc, etc), to the poor areas of the city, sites of the country side, the traffic, the food, the smells, the orphanage (which was quite sad and disturbing to see--one of my boys had to leave the room because of the images he saw and the sadness he felt), AG behavior, and so on. The images are too numerous and the implications are yet to be felt.
3) Quality of reflection. Wrapping my mind around and understanding all that I have seen and experience is going to take some time. A lot of "how come" I still do not have good answers for (from the mundane of why having squat toilets to deeper question of human suffering...)
AG continues to be a joy in our lives. She is eating well (does not like spicy food too much), traveling well, happy and obedient most of the time, with some appropriate 4 year old sassiness!
She is so ticklish that putting on clothes and socks will send her into a giggling fit!
She is mimicking alot of our behavior (sun glasses, lip gloss, etc).
She likes to read (we are trying to read to her in both English and Chinese) and loves music and is presently having way too much fun in the bath tub!)
She is very fond of her mom and we are amazed of her independence (dresses self, feed self, comb hair, etc)
That is enough for now from Pa. will write more when there is time. Thanks for praying for use. Keep sending up those much needed prayers.
Speaking of prayer, AG requires that we pray before we eat/meals. She often volunteers to pray (I cannot understand much of it but it usually involves the Lord Jesus, mom, dad, 2 brothers and alot of ???? and it is ended with a big AMEN!
And one last thing (really), there is so much smog here that blue sky has not been visible since we arrived. Our guide said if you want to see blue skies in China, go to Tibet!
Thank you for sharing. We are following every day! I love the pic of C (Is that C?) and AG already blogging! She looks like such a tiny thing in his lap! I am so glad you guys get to blaze the trail for us and share your experiences. I do not think I am prepared for the sad things (outside of taking our daughter from her only home). We continue to follow your every journey and look forward to your arrival home.
