Can't believe it's been a year. WE left for China 3/24, actually met AG at her foster home 3/26, but 3/29 was our official "gotcha" day. And because we met her on her own turf on 3/26, our "gotcha" day went fairly smoothly. Yes, there were tears at nap and bedtime that day, but the actual "handover" was smooth--she knew all of us much better than the orphanage lady she had only briefly met. Our official adoption date was 3/30 but in our minds, she was our daughter forever on 3/29/2010. What an eventful year, what a fast year. She has always been with us, it seems. She is doing great, learning so much, has such a fun loving personality. She loves teasing and chasing with her brothers, reading with mom, playing with dad. And she turned 5 in February! And we are looking at sending her to kindergarten this fall. It is so wonderfully amazing to experience this miracle of adoption, to see how an adopted child is no different than a bio one, that even though we only have 1 year of history with her, she is still, always was, and always will be our daughter. So cool to also realize, that when God adopts us as His sons and daughters, we also are an equal member of His family.
Happy 1 year home, AG, with your forever family! So glad we could finally meet you, to complete part of the puzzle of our lives. YOU were one of our missing pieces! And we love you so much, AG, Love, mom
