Our journey begins
Well, this is my very 1st post, to start chronicling the journey to our daughter in China. It began in the spring of 2007 in theory, but in reality back when ma was about 10 and her aunt and uncle adopted twin girls from Taiwan. The dream, even after raising 2 wonderful boys, did not disappear, though it did seem lost for awhile. Then in the spring of 2007 God seemed to push me to begin pursuing my dream again, and bathe it in prayer. The next 6 months were full of prayer, by us and others, and confirmations in events, things heard on Moody radio "at the right time", and books I read which spoke to my heart. January 14, 2008, a day of 60+ degree weather in the midwest snow belt, Pa and Ma went for a walk on the balmy evening and spoke again of adoption. We decided that night to proceed, to trust in the sovereignty of God, that He was leading us down this path, and if we were wrong, that it was totally in HIS power to shut the door at any time. So we began our long journey. An amazing journey to an amazing girl, who has been raised since 15 months old at at amazing foster home in Beijing where she is loved and nurtured. This is Amazing, as we have prayed all through the last years that she would be loved, and she is! God has not shut the door yet! So we proceed with the confidence that God chose AG to be OUR daughter, and HE will give us the strength and wisdom to be her parents.
